.........on Robbie's flat.....he has now been in his flat for a month and he is really enjoying it with his Carer who is from Cronulla Southern Sydney (Australia).

My Brothers Inquest.....

.........was last Thursday, it was a very interesting thing to go to but so very very sad listening to the 12 days leading up to Willie's death, they played an audio of a conversation he had with one doctor which really upset me!

The verdict was they gave basic medical care but thats all and they should hold there heads in shame.....we can now take it further which my brother Dave is going too.

Willie's death certificate now has cause of death with narrative- which basically outlines the failings of the medical professional's involved in Willie's last days....it was a very difficult day.. it has now become a civil matter and will be dealt with further....

Still so shocked he died this way.

Nige and me went here today and it was stunning and interesting......here is some info.

Durdle Door is one of the most photographed landmarks along the Jurassic Coast. This rock arch in the sea was formed as a result of the softer rocks being eroded away behind the hard limestones, allowing the sea to punch through them. The name Durdle is derived from an Old English word 'thirl' meaning bore or drill. Eventually the arch will collapse to leave a sea stack such as those that can be seen at Ladram Bay in East Devon.

Each year more than 200.000 walkers use the footpath between Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door, making it the busiest stretch in the south west.

Robbie is still know nearer moving into his flat he was turned down for a grant to help with furniture!!! Silly benefit rules....but once we put some flooring down and his hoist is in then hopefully it wont be long!

.............send off.......I've never seen anything like that before, so wonderful and personal, i shall miss Tone my father in law very much he was Jamaican as my mother in law re-married and i have know him for 35years he was the kindest man ever, Robbie was devastated as he was Robs Granddad and he was the proudest man when Rob past his driving test. This is what Robbie wrote and read at the service.

Tomorrow evening is gonna be a special one as Wimbledon dogs are holding an evening in memory of my Brother who died in april, he owned greyhounds and did alot for retired ones and was well respected.....i think they are also going to parade his dogs around the track.

THE MEETING

It was dreadful yesterday , the whole week leading up to it has been so bad!....trying to get through to her was like hitting a brick wall....God only knows whats gonna happen but i put a great case across with the help of a good friend who sat in with me and we got answers.......what i did get her to find out from her manager is if it all falls through he can revert to what he has now at uni....and he said YES....It would mean losing the flat tho and thats what they have always been working towards.......its so hard to explain it to you as there is so much more.

I really need to have a vent so im sorry........for those of you who dont know i have a physically disabled son who is 20 and wheelchair dependant he is also at university staying at halls with a full-time carer.......Yesterday we both went to look at a flat they have offered him in his home town....now this brand new flat is the bees knees it has all electric windows, sink, cooker at his level, shower room and electric front door with cctv...........brilliant flat and brilliant news hey................well here is the downfall...i wanna swear now!! social service are saying that his wont need a carer as much and dont think there will be enough money to provide him with a night time carer which he really needs..........say there is a fire or he drops things in the night that he needs....and not only that would they like to be left in a flat all alone knowing you cant call anyone!!! ive been crying most of the day.....she is coming out on friday i will update then......so sorry xx

FOLLOW MY HEART - create stitched panels based on the designs from the altered book pages created in the workshop

It is a NEW concept, directly taking paper / design / altered art & creating stitched pieces.

The 6 fortnightly lessons will explore Colour, texture, Line & shapes in paper & in fabric & FOLLOWING a theme, English Country Garden or a theme of your own choosing.
Stitching can be by hand or machine, samples & ideas will be given for both.

Ive chosen St Ives my favourite place....all things about the sea - and the photos are some of my work already x

.....Well i did manage to hand in my wall hanging and college work my heart wasn't in it but i have good friends who helped me along.

Just a few photo's from Cornwall last week.....my Granddaughter surely wore us out, it was a total different holiday but the end was best when she cried so much and said this is has been my best holiday ever Nana xx

The service went really well yesterday and there were some lovely speeches that made me cry..........but Willie would have been proud of his send off he had such a wonderful turn out of people.

Thank you for all your kind wishes im feeling so very numb.....we found out yesterday that there will be an inquest as my Brother was seen by 3 different doctors which somehow makes it even worse ;-( cant stop thinking about him being in so much pain and all alone.

Today some friends took me out to keep my mind of everything......i was awake early hours with all sorts of thoughts running through my mind, and thought i would make bookmarks to hand out on the day of the burial laminated ones with a picture and verse! x

............some really bad news this morning, found out one of my Brothers have died.....he had gone to the hospital on Monday with back and stomach pains and was sent home....a friend rang him last night and his speech was slurred and she couldnt make sense of him....tried to ring him later and couldnt get an answer so rang the police they went round got in through a window to find him dead ;-( And ive just found out what he died of.....Appendicitis...im in shock....cant believe the hospital sent him home x

....on what will hopefully be my wall hanging, but im beginning to wonder where i got those colours from, so not sure if ive done my research properly!!! See the thing is i started of with looking at sea artists and found i fancied the fossils............HELP x

The Ammonite was made doing block printing by rollering it on the desk quite thinly adding different colours, then i put a piece of calico on top and traced it.

And last but not least a lovely gift from my lovely friend Corrine for my birthday...l love the bag with the elephant on...thanks Corrine xx

..................more stuff for you to look at.......Top picture is a peek at my wallhanging in the making, second is shaped pipe cleaner of an Ammonite then wrapped in fabric which i think will be couched down! Third picture is puff paint (not sure its the right one) lol which i combed and then put chiffon over, i have to leave it to dry and then apply heat so pic on this 2moro......Then some off my Annomite and an inspiration photo.

..........i cut the Tyvek into strips and then painted it, once dryed i tyied knots into it and wrapped some thread and added a couple of beads......pinned it to cardboard and using my heat tool melted it......i will couch this into my wallhanging i think (mind all jumbled up with ideas)!

Can you spot the Ammonite carved in the cardboard i cut to make a template? x Third picture down.

Oh sorry the pictures are not that great but took them at 5am as couldn't sleep....i wonder why!!!

..............to get in my craft room today and had a play as i have to make a wall hanging for my next piece at college, ive decided on Fossils....i have lots of ideas....and here is some experiments i done today....First picture has Puff Paint, Tyvek, Cellophane all been melted!

Second picture is painted Tyvek which i have painted and am now in the process off tying knots, putting some beads that wont melt and wrapping some threads around.

We had a great lunch and a wonderful time....for those of you that dont really know i collect watches and have around 60.....and Ross and Janine's surprise was an Armani Watch which is stunning but they have to get it altered as i have such small wrists and they will be getting it ingraved too, so more pictures to come at a later date.

Cloth to Cloth

I brought a video series from Jude Hill as i had seen some of the Cloth's on peoples blog's and really liked them and the idea behind making them....this is my second attempt at the first stage as the first one i was not sure about but will be returning to it at a later date. Will show you as i go through the stages. The colours what looks like to be gold are green....will take the next photo with my camera for better colour.

..........my special cyber friend Lisa a big favour for my wonderful niece Georgina as she lost her dog before christmas and he meant the world to her as when she was only 12 her Mum died, so he was a great comfort to her.

A Sad Day........

.......for me today as four years ago i lost my wonderful Dad who meant the world to me.......his first wife died of TB the mother of my two Sisters......then my Dad brought six of us up when my Mum left in 1963 and he never remarried or had another lady in his life.......it was a hard childhood but a very happy one....my Mum had a first marriage too having two Sons one went with his father and Ian came and lived with my Dad and my Mum even left him for my Dad to bring up! She had left and was never to be seen again i was only 18months old, she told my elder brother she was goning for fish and chips and never come back.....we laugh to this day if anyone says they are getting fish and chips 'make sure you come back' we would say!.

After 40 years i decided to trace her and belive me it was hard but i got lots of help from wonderful people on Genes Reunited....who managed to find a Cousin i contacted her and was told she had died but her sister was alive at the age of 90....to cut this story a little short as i feel im rambling now....we spoke and then had a wonderful reuion that meant so much to me as i now had photo's and found out what happened to her.

She had gone off with another man and had a Son.....now thats another story.....Poor man i managed to trace him and he had no idea of all these brothers and sister he had....my mum had carried her guilt around with her and took it to her grave.

Well thats a little about my background....hope you didnt mind reading it....somtimes i need to air it....thanks for listening.

........Day to you all.....Hubby and me re-newed our Wedding Vows 5 years ago today....have a lookie at a couple of photos and a digital layout i made a while back. I got married young and it wasnt a great wedding...so for us this was wonderful x The two younger childern are my Granddaughters x

The Foundling Hospital no longer exists, but its work is being carried on by the children's charity Coram, making it the oldest children's charity in Britain.

Thousands of babies were abandoned and left at the Foundling Hospital. The exhibition Threads of Feeling concentrates on the period 1740 - 1770. Although many of the babies were just left, with no care for their welfare, some of the mothers (most of them could not read and write) left with their children various little tokens of love, many of them small scraps of fabrics or ribbons, as in a hope that this would identify the child sometime in the future, should they be able to claim the child back, which rarely happened. The staff at the hospital kept these tokens, or a piece of child's clothing, attaching them to the child's registration form and these were kept as part of the hospital's ledgers.
With some 5,000 pieces, the ledgers have become the largest archives of 18th century textiles in this country, as many of the pieces came from the mother's dress or an adult clothing.

This has blown me away ....such a gut wrenching thing all those poor mothers and babies....i would love to go too and really thinking about it as its quite near Great Ormond St Hospital which i know very well....very very interesting.

The items are a book showing how to make decorative books, by Sue Roddis......A phone cover that was made using Lutradur and Lace I dyed and did some FME and turned it into a mobile phone cover and added a lovely bead. Also a coffee holder for all you people who love costa or starbucks....this has been made using the slashing technique.

Well this is going to be the Crown of the hat, i have free machine embroidered on it and will add some gold petite beads....Once this is done i shall sew it together and keep my fingers crossed it will work with the weaving Top......Believe it or not this is the colour that runs through the weaving, just a bad lighting i think!!

Any ideas on what i could edge the bottom of it with please, im a little stuck here? X

..........the hat......had to do some more dying at college last night as my Brown Rose dye seemed to come out purple and as Linda said in the last post 'not really the right colour Jen' in so many words...... and she was right........so anyhow i managed to weave, sew and cut it out this morning....so here is yet another LOOKIE.

Sorry the video is on its side its the first time ive even uploaded a video!! Anyhow it was a great trip to London....We had breakfast in the new famous Westfields before making our way to my Niece's house and the party was in Holland Park, so it was fun for all the children with a park outside.
Then this morning my neighbour knocked on the door with a package from Corrine it had been delivered yesterday day whilst i was out......thank you for sorting out your stash Corrine these are amazing and ive already found a bag that my daughter will like...so i shall have ago at making it....thanks for the other goodies too.

Then there is the dying of silk and calico for some weaving for the top of my hat.....but as my hubby says i always have to do things twice....lol.....anyhow the dying came out great BUT the strips wasnt long enough for the frame.....so im gonna have to do it all again....never mind hey xx

Tonight....trying to make paper....not sure if i torn the paper right but its my first time so will see 2moro when its all dry.

Looking forward to 2moro as going to London with my eldest Son and Daughter and my 3 Granddaughters....to my Great Nephews 2nd birthday....where going by train so that will make a change as i normally would drive its only an hour from where i live.

A very pround moment for me taking this photo of Robbie when he was 9years old on his sports day with his friends cheering him on to get the water into the bucket....it was hard for him to operate his chair plus do this...SO PROUD.

Here we go as promised my boards that ive been working toward on my Textile Course, I have to use some of the techniques that i have learnt so i am thinking of using......Slashing.....Solouble with free machine embroidery and felt, not sure if you can see but the last picture is what i was trying to design at 5am this morning!!!
