TEXTILE COURSE

I started a 4 week Textile Course, with two very enthusiastic young teachers.....we used disoveable fabric and trapped different fibres, lace, metallic, threads, and sequins between two sheet of it, then put it in a hoop and then machined all over to hold it together....once we had done this we soaked it in water and i was so pleased with mine....i layered felt too....it is now hanging in there workshop to dry but i did manage to take this picture :-)

  1. Hi Jennie ...THIS IS FAB...I love it .where did you do the workshop? I use solufleece which is water soluble and i saw a book that used bits of patchwork squares inside then stitched over it .i love using dissolvable fabric it's so exciting to put it in the water and then discover what magic has happened ..........thanks for comments on my blog yes thats a good idea for the long frame do you mean with a mount with 4 apertures ...lorna x

  3. This is lots of fun to do isn't it! I never use a hoop, cause I hate them and set them up wrong / hit the sides etc etc. I use water soluble on the back and front - you can get ones that are sticky one side or just use a little spray baste top and bottom before putting it on.

Someone at a class had a perfectly clear one that you could iron on to fuse and it washed straight out, but no one knew the brand and i've never seen in again. :(

  5. This is fabulous - I must try to get hold of some of the water-soluble fabric as I have read about this so much and would love to give it a go.
