hi jen! i wish you the best of luck for your interview. i think my best advice to you is just to be honest. if you don't know something, tell them so. but also show them how enthused you are to learn new things! you'll be great!

Oh Jen... good luck... I am not sure how they interview in your part of the world and I'd hate to give you any advise that might scare you, however, I have found that over here, unlike years ago, interviews are not skill based but rather behavioral based... in other words, they ask you a lot of questions like how would you or how have you handled a situation like caring for someone (which you have a lot of experience in)... be ready with examples... also, if you can, try and learn a little bit about the company before going in so you can "drop" something you know about it in one of your answers if the opportunity arises... it lets them know you have done your research on them, ie. what their mission is so you are working towards the same goal... About five years ago I had to go through "job training/counselling" when I was let go from my corporate position, and I was given a workbook and put through mock interviews... they told me to record myself talking (ie. the answers for an interview) then listen back to myself because they say we are not used to "listening" to our own voice... I did this and I found it helped... I still have that work book and could find out more for you, but by the time you read this, I'll be in bed and then it will be night for you and then your interview... but hope this helps. In any event, just relax, stay calm, breath, and have confidence... I know you will do great. Hugs and best wishes!

ReplyDeletegood luck Jennie ...yes that is good advice about having examples for situations that you have dealt with and also find out about the company thats always helpful they like to know you have done your homework and are keen to work for them ....but most of all be yourself that is Most important.....you'll be fine ...x
