  1. jen you have every right to be upset at this awful decision. I know how much you worry about Robbie, and how proud you have been of him going to Uni, and here are these people making decisions that would mean backward steps. Have they no hearts or even brains.
I hope you are able to convince them to see the light.

Vent all you like girl you have good reason to.

  2. They have sh*t for brains! That is so cruel, no wonder you needed to vent.
I hope they reverse their thinking and keep his night carer too.

    Hugs,

    Sandie xx

  3. You have every right to be furious. This is your space so feel free to vent all you like. You have a lot of friends here who would support you in your fight for what is right.
Really hope it all works out for the best Jen.

  5. Jenny, sorry you have this worry about your son at present. Just make your case and emphasize that it is valuable progress for his independent life to move into this flat, BUT he would not be able to take advantage of it without an adequate level of support. Make the points about his safety and emotional well-being. (I am retired OT). Good luck with it.Keep calm but be assertive.

  6. It's so crazy - I have a disabled uncle and he didn't even get the adjustments he needed doing to his flat. It's ridiculous that you have to fight nearly every step of the way just to get the right care. I'm with the other ladies, vent all you like - we all back you up. Just hope they see sense on Friday - you have a really good vent at them!

  8. Good luck with the 'argument' come Friday. I'll be thinking of you. You have every right to feel this way. People in ivory towers really have no idea do they. Perhaps they'd care to walk two moons in YOUR moccasins and see what their plan would be then!! I'm feeling rather angry on your behalf [pity it's half a world away].

  11. One would think that the people in the position to make these decisions would have some experience with disabilities and some compassion. No wonder you are upset! Hoping things all work out to your son's benefit.

  16. Jen... my thoughts are with you through yet another struggle... stick your ground and give them all the concerns you have, and let them know how the quality of life will be affected and why his education is so important... easier for us to say than to deal with, but know we are all thinking of you. Hugs.
